The Key Laboratory of Integrated Crop Pest Management in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau of the Ministry of Agriculture is a regional key laboratory approved for construction by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2012. The laboratory focuses on the national demand of harmonious development of economic progress and resources and environment, aims at the frontier of international agricultural biodiversity research, based on the advantages of irreplaceable biodiversity resources, serves the development of biological industry in the western region. Through independent innovation of scientific theories, application models and key technologies, we will serve the development of bio-industry in the western region, solve major scientific problems and key technologies in the conservation and utilization of biodiversity and the excavation of characteristic biological resources, promote the construction of China's radiation center for South and Southeast Asia, and provide scientific and technological support for the bio-industry and resource environmental protection and development in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces and even in China.
Research Direction
The laboratory mainly focuses on the following three research directions.
1. Biology and management of crop diseases and insects
Research on the biology of plant pathogens and their interactions with hosts, the biology of major plant pests and their co-evolutionary mechanisms, and Plant Pests and Diseases Occurrence Patterns and Causal Mechanisms
2、Plant quarantine and invasive organism prevention and control
Research on risk analysis of invasive organisms and quarantine pests, biological characteristics of invasive and quarantine pests, and prevention and control strategies.
3、Biological control of important agricultural pests and diseases
Research on the key technologies of biodiversity control of pests and diseases, the basis and technology of natural enemy insects and predatory mite applications, the mechanism of action and fermentation process of biological control microorganisms, and the creation and application of biological control products.
